The Pavilion Partners, the official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will hold its previously rescheduled 21st Annual Wine Dinner and Auction Sunday, May 16 at 5 p.m. at The Pavilion. This exclusive dinner funds scholarships for local students pursuing the fine arts in higher education.

It will be an evening of fine wine, provided by Flora Springs Napa Valley Family Estate, delicious food, courtesy of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse andamp; Wine Bar, live entertainment and good company. Table sponsorships are available as well as individually priced tickets.

This year’s event will honor John Komes, Founder, President and Proprieter of Flora Springs Vineyards and Winery. As one of the biggest family owned grape growers in Napa Valley, Flora Springs has been an instrumental part of making the Wine Dinner the success that it has been for over 20 years.

In addition to fine food and wine, the evening will feature exciting raffle and auction items, an exclusive silent auction, complementary valet parking and a live performance from a current scholarship recipient.  This year’s event chairs are Jacque Everson and Lisa Koetting.

The annual Wine Dinner continues a tradition of raising funds for scholarships awarded to local high school students planning to study in the arts in college. In 2019, 270 guests attended the dinner and raised approximately $250,000. Since its inception, Partners has awarded more than $1.4 million in fine arts scholarships.  The 2020 event was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and out of consideration for the well-being of guests and staff.

Scholarships are awarded to students in the following categories: vocal music, instrumental music, theater arts, dance, visual arts and computer graphic arts. The awards, based on talent and academic performance, are presented each spring.

Sponsors and underwriters of the event include Comcast; Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar; Flora Springs Napa Valley Family Estate; Insperity; Northern Trust / Elizabeth andamp; Colter Lewis; Sewell Audi North Houston; Chardelle Adelson; Cyndi and Ron Brandt; Kristi and George Lindahl, Nancy and Dennis Proctor, Charity and Dudley Smith, and Karen and Paul Taylor; Sylvia Caracio; Jacque and Lloyd Everson; Cindy and John Hageman, Lisa and Fred Koetting, Michelle and Dennis Leary, Becky Norris and Ed Jones, and Sue and Kent Pagel; Cindy Notarianni; Amy and Keith Odom; and Rosemary Rodd.
